History:

Shroud Manufacturers Ltd were part of W.L. Doggart & Son, wholesale merchants and manufacturers to funeral undertakers. Their warehouse on James Street in Belfast was home to the premises of which Shroud Manufacturers operated from.

With Joseph Doggart being a director at the Belfast company as well as Newman Brothers, it’s no surprise that the two companies worked closely with each other. Newman Brothers supplied ‘Shroud Manufacturers Ltd’ with shrouds and ‘shirts’, and this document provides an insight into the transactions between the two companies and the high standards that were demanded.
